What is your role at The Perse School and for how long have you been a teacher here?
I am a Year 3 teacher and I have been in The Perse School since February 2026.
What inspired you to become a teacher?
I’ve always had a love for learning, and teaching felt like a natural way to share that passion with others. I enjoy creating engaging learning experiences and helping students discover their own curiosity and interests.
How long have you been a teacher and what do you love most about it?
I have been a teacher for 12 years, working across a range of grade levels. What I love most about teaching is getting to see the world through the lens of a child. It brings a fresh perspective to everyday learning and keeps each day exciting. It truly never gets boring!
What is one thing students might be surprised to learn about you?
I absolutely love durian.
What was your favourite subject when you were in school?
Science and Literature- an odd mix, but I loved both!
What is a hidden talent or hobby you have outside of teaching?
I am a trained yoga teacher.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go?
I would really like to visit Switzerland again.
What is one thing on your bucket list?
I’d love to attend a yoga retreat in a peaceful location, where I can fully disconnect and recharge.
If you could create a new school subject, what would it be?
I would create a subject that combines life skills and wellbeing, focused on teaching and equipping students with essential skills such as communication, emotional awareness, and how to navigate real-world challenges with confidence. I believe these skills will strongly support a student’s learning and overall development.
What is the best piece of advice you’ve ever received?
Slow down and be present. It’s a constant reminder that not everything needs to be rushed, and that being mindful helps you appreciate both learning and life more fully.
What do you love most about The Perse School Community?
The collaborative spirit! It’s great working with colleagues who are passionate, supportive, and always open to sharing ideas
