MEET MAIZURA SAM

ECA coordinator

ECA Coordinator and Year 6 Support

You might have seen me around the school; engaged in the Pelicans and Juniors School or even down at the foyer and bus bay. It’s been lovely conversing with familiar faces and high-fiving, or side-hugs from the students.

I’m Maizura Sam (Ms Sam), a founding staff of The Perse School (Singapore)! A Year 6 Teaching Assistant, and in February this year, I took up the role of ECA Coordinator. The extroverted me enjoys planning and the satisfaction of a streamlined process and conquering unexpected what-ifs.

I currently work closely with teachers to ensure there’s a range of educational, fun and skill-appropriate activities for the students. Provide suggestions on what we could alter. You’ll find some exciting ECA additions this term and the new academic school year in August. I also collaborate with PE Department with regards to ACSIS competition

Before stepping into education, I was once a Centre Manager for a Kids Gymnastic School!

I graduated in Sports and Leisure Management, with Sociology.

With a certificate in Bilingual and Multilingual Learning comes in very handy in my classroom scope of supporting students and breaking down learning tasks. In the classroom, no two days are ever the same and that’s what kept me motivated. Feels surreal knowing in less than half a year, my Year 6’s will be moving on to Senior School. Half of these students I’ve interacted with since Year 5!

Out of school you can catch me working out at REVL and unwinding with Indie music and visiting art exhibitions.
