This week parents and students in the Senior School have had the opportunity to find out about careers advice from our consultant and visiting University Guidance Counsellor Mr Hamilton Gregg. He has also provided Question & Answer sessions for parents during the week as well as leading lessons to Year 9 and 10.
This has also been a focus for the Senior School faculty who have been looking at new guidance and careers programmes as we take onboard a new platform for students from years 7-13 which will help them in building their portfolios and preparing for the next steps. We will be sharing these next steps with all parents at information sessions in the new academic year as well as with our students .
The key to providing more options and opportunities for students is for them to maintain their academics so that they have more choices in the future. In addition, building up a wide holistic portfolio is essential. We provide many opportunities for our students, and I hope that you will celebrate with us their achievements over this week in the newsletter.

Exploring Creativity Through Art In our Art classes, students are encouraged to explore creativity, personal expression, and cultural identity through a wide range of media and techniques. Recently, students have been working on a Still Life project inspired by their own cultures, where they created meaningful compositions using personal and cultural objects. Through this process, they developed their observational drawing skills while also telling visual stories connected to their backgrounds and experiences. The final artworks were created using mixed media, allowing students to experiment with texture, colour, and composition.
In addition, students explored the 7 Elements of Art: line, shape, form, colour, value, texture, and space, by creating a series of experimental artworks. Each element was investigated through different materials and techniques, helping students to build a strong foundation in visual language while encouraging creative risk-taking. The result is a vibrant and diverse collection of artworks that reflect both technical skill and individuality. These pieces will be showcased in the upcoming Senior Art Exhibition, taking place from 15–19 June, where the school community will have the opportunity to celebrate the creativity and achievements of our students.
