One school, many worlds
On International Day, our corridors became something rather extraordinary: a journey. Armed with a passport and a sense of adventure, our students and visitors set off on a route that spanned five continents — stopping at stalls representing Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Myanmar, Nepal, Nigeria, Panama, Colombia, South Africa, the Philippines, India, Sweden, Italy, France, Germany, Australia, Wales, UK, Ukraine, and Russia and many more!
At each destination, a stamp. But more than that — a conversation, a taste, a flag explained, a word learned in another language, a family’s story shared. Twenty-seven country stalls, representing 29 countries, all gathered under one school, each one belonging to someone in our community.
By the end of the day, every passport was full. It’s a small and tangible thing — a booklet of ink stamps — but what it represents is something much larger: the remarkable breadth of backgrounds, languages, and cultures that make up The Perse School Singapore. Our diversity is not a footnote to who we are. It is very much the story.
A heartfelt thank you to The Perse School Singapore PTA and to every volunteer who gave their time and energy to bring the day to life. From setting up stalls to welcoming children at each stop, their enthusiasm made the journey feel genuinely alive. Thank you to all who came along! Days like this don’t happen without people who care — and we are lucky to have so many of them.
